Helping Empower INC was started as a DBA Jan 1st 2023 with an application for an LLC and a mindset of becoming a 501c3 not for profit here in Cayuga County. The thought process of founder Jason "Wally" Meyers was to fill human service services gaps in the local community. Since the start we have grown and adapted to the needs of the community. We obtained a 2000 square foot space to be able to add a youth drop in center named LJ's Safe Place. In June of 2023, we did obtain not for profit status with the IRS. We have also obtained a contract with Cayuga County to implement targeted Narcan distribution in Cayuga County. We also became a New York State Certified OPIOID OVERDOSE PREVENTION Program. This allows us to go outside of Cayuga County and train entities and people of trends, and what we are doing to adapt to the ever changing climate of substance use and overdose issues in our community. Consulting with other agencies to assist in their communities on best practices we use to stay in the game of reducing overdose deaths. We also work with individuals using one on one non clinical support, and we also refer to agencies that can assist the need of the person seeking assistance. We plan to grow and strive for excellence in all of the work we involve ourselves in. "Here at HELPRA INC., we don't accept stays quo as a way of life. We believe we can do better always!!!
Below Founder Jason "Wally" Meyers founded HELPRA INC. He was empowered by colleagues and friends to take the next step in his career. He has been guided by a greater intelligence in light of suffrage and need, to move forward on the endeavour of, being of service to our community.
